This section of our website is dedicated to those
interested in getting involved in youth athletics to help young
adults, children and even parents understand the value of athletics
in teaching life's most valuable lessons. We believe the
single most important element of your child's athletic experience is
their coaching, it is vital to find, retain and promote
coaches that help us bring our best, both in competition as well as
in life. To borrow a phrase from Jim Thompson, our goal as
coaches, parents and athletes is to have a "double goal." 1st, to
win, 2nd to understand how to respect the sport in which we are
participants and to then go out and show that "class" by respecting
the sport, win or lose. Over 70% of youth drop out of sports
by age 13, we must use sports as a teaching method, we are coaches,
our privilege is to coach or help "carry" our athletes to a higher
level.Below are some books I have read that
have helped me and many other coaches, I like many of you, continue
to learn each day and try to better the experience for all involved.
